REMOVAL
1.
Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 2), self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 7), and spigot caps (Figure 1, Item 1).
Discard bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) and self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 7).
NOTE
For torque rods attached to the axle towers, pry off the metal plug caps from the towers to
gain access to the torque rod self-locking bushing nuts.
2.
Remove torque rod (Figure 1, Item 3) from spigot (Figure 1, Item 4) by prying at each end of rod until it
separates from spigot.
3.
Support torque rod end with bushing end facing up. Remove bushing (Figure 1, Item 5). Discard bushing
(Figure 1, Item 5).

CLEANING
NOTE
Particular attention should be paid to cleaning the inside taper of the spigot.
Clean all rust, scale, and rubber accumulations from torque rod eyes (Figure 1, Item 6), spigot caps
(Figure 1, Item 1), and spigots (Figure 1, Item 4).
