DISCONNECTING GOOSENECK FROM SEMITRAILER FOR LOADING OR UNLOADING - Continued
lever (Figure 10, Item 1) until arm contacts towing vehicle rear bumper or approach ramps of towing
vehicle bedplate.
WARNING
The operator of the towing vehicle should exercise extreme caution when moving the
towing vehicle with the gooseneck attached. Operator must know where the
observer/ground guide is at all times. The observer/ground guide should direct the operator
under these circumstances. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to personnel.
Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.

Slowly pull towing vehicle forward until gooseneck base clears semitrailer, and park towing vehicle and
gooseneck in a location clear of semitrailer to permit loading or unloading of semitrailer.
