CLEANING VEHICLE.
WARNING
Compressed air used for cleaning or drying purposes, or for clearing
restrictions, should never exceed 30 psi (207 kPa). Wear protective
clothing (goggles/shield, gloves, etc.) and use caution to avoid injury to
personnel.
CAUTION
DO NOT use high pressure water to clean inside of cab or engine
compartment. Damage to electrical system may result.
a.
Exterior.
(1)
Never wipe dirt off when vehicle is dry.
(2)
Never wash vehicle in direct sunlight or if vehicle exterior is hot to touch.
(3)
Wash vehicle often using cold or lukewarm water (never use hot water or
any strong detergent). Do not use abrasives to remove mud and dirt from your vehicle.
(4)
While cleaning vehicle, look closely for evidence of rust or corrosion, bare
metal, or other exterior damage. If any problems are found, notify Unit Maintenance to treat
affected areas.
b.
Interior.
(1)
Remove loose dust and dirt from cab interior components.
(2)
Clean upholstery and seat belts using a mild solution of warm water and
soap (never use solvents or abrasives). Wipe all washed areas dry.
