DISASSEMBLY
WARNING
Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) paint debris may be considered
environmentally hazardous during removal. Consult local procedures prior to removal of
CARC paint to ensure compliance with local laws. Failure to comply may result in death or
injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
NOTE
Read Disassembly and Assembly instructions first, and then perform only the steps
needed to repair the tool box.
1.
Fully open and secure tool box lid (Figure 1, Item 4), disconnect lower end of pneumatic cylinders
(Figure 1, Item 13), and tilt wooden tool box floorboard (Figure 1, Item 18) up on one side to clear pneumatic
cylinder ball studs (Figure 1, Item 9). Lift out floorboard (Figure 1, Item 18).

Remove four safety clips (Figure 1, Item 12) and pull to disconnect pneumatic cylinders (Figure 1, Item 13)
from ball studs (Figure 1, Item 9) and remove pneumatic cylinders (Figure 1, Item 13). Remove four self-
locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 10), eight washers (Figure 1, Item 8), and four ball studs (Figure 1, Item 9).
Discard self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 10).

Remove four self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 11), eight washers (Figure 1, Item 6), four bolts
(Figure 1, Item 5), and two brackets (Figure 1, Item 7). Discard self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 11).
4.
Remove two self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 19), washers (Figure 1, Item 20), bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), and
handle (Figure 1, Item 2). Discard self-locking nuts (Figure 1, Item 19).
5.
Remove paint from area to be repaired. Refer to local procedures for CARC paint.
6.
Using a cutting torch, release welds between hinges and tool box cover (Figure 1, Item 4) and
remove cover.
7.
Drive pins (Figure 1, Item 3) out of hinges. Discard hinge pins (Figure 1, Item 3).

1.
Install new hinge pins (Figure 1, Item 3) on portion of hinge attached to tool box (Figure 1, Item 17).
2.
Install tool box cover (Figure 1, Item 4) hinges onto hinge pins (Figure 1, Item 3) and close tool box cover.
