WARNING
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is an electrical system. When working on ABS the same
precautions must be taken as with any electrical system. The danger of electrical shock or
sparks exists which could ignite flammable substances. ALWAYS disconnect the power to
the system before any repairs are made. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to
personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
CAUTION
When welding on an ABS equipped vehicle or semitrailer, disconnect the power connector
from the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Also disconnect the power from the ECU/Valve
Assembly before removing any components. Failure to follow this caution can cause faults
to be recorded and stored in the ECU memory. Failure to comply may result in damage to,
or destruction of, equipment or mission.
