CAUTION
To avoid damage to grease seal, use caution when sliding hub onto axle spindle. Failure to
comply may result in damage to, or destruction of, equipment or mission.
4.
Slide hub (Figure 3, Item 7) with studs (Figure 3, Item 9) onto axle spindle (Figure 3, Item 8).
5.
Pack outer bearing set (Figure 3, Items 5 and 6) with grease. Insert into hub (Figure 3, Item 7) with large
diameter of bearing facing out.
6.
Install inner nut (Figure 3, Item 4).
7.
While rotating hub (Figure 3, Item 7) slowly, tighten inner nut (Figure 3, Item 4) to a torque of 150 lb ft
(203.4 Nm). Back off inner nut one turn. Re-torque inner nut to 50 lb ft (67.8 Nm).
8.
Install keyed washer (Figure 3, Item 3). If necessary, back off inner nut (Figure 3, Item 4) so that alignment
pin on inner nut mates into closest hole in keyed washer (Figure 3, Item 3).
9.
Install tabbed washer (Figure 3, Item 2).
10.
Install outer bearing nut (Figure 3, Item 1). Turn outer bearing nut (Figure 3, Item 1) tightly against keyed
washer (Figure 3, Item 3). Torque outer bearing nut to 150 lb ft (203.4 Nm).
