WARNING
Improper cleaning methods and use of unauthorized cleaning solvents may injure

Cloths or rags saturated with solvent cleaning compound must be disposed of
using IAW authorized facilities procedures. Failure to comply may result in death or
injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.

Remove grease with cleaning compound solvent and a clean rag.

INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
1.
Inspect gladhand body for damaged threads, cracks, dents, holes, and warps.
2.
Replace defective gladhand.
3.
Pry out packing ring (Figure 2, Item 2) and check for wear and deterioration.
END OF TASK
PACKING RING INSTALLATION
1.
Clean packing ring groove in gladhand (Figure 2, Item 5).
2.
Partially collapse packing ring (Figure 2, Item 2) with fingers and insert one side of ring flange into groove.
NOTE
Face of ring must lie flat with no twist or bulge.
3.
Push packing ring (Figure 2, Item 2) into place.
END OF TASK
INSTALLATION
1.
Install gladhand (Figure 2, Item 5) on gooseneck (Figure 2, Item 4).
2.
Apply antiseizing tape to threads of gladhand (Figure 2, Item 5) and air line (Figure 2, Item 1) coupling and
connect air line to gladhand (Figure 2, Item 5).
