INSTALLATION
NOTE
If spare tire is required, refer to (WP 0040)
If only the outer tire assembly is being installed, go to Step 3.
1.
Install inner valve stem extension (Figure 4, Item 4).
WARNING
DO NOT lift wheel and tire assembly. Wheel and tire assembly weighs 250 lb (113 kg).
Use two or more personnel to roll or slide wheel and tire assembly. Failure to comply may
result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
2.
With assistance, install inner tire assembly.
3.
With assistance, install outer tire assembly (Figure 4, Item 3). Ensure outer valve stem (Figure 4, Item 2) is
opposite (180 degrees) from inner valve stem (Figure 4, Item 4).
4.
Using handle and wrench, install 10 lug nuts (Figure 4, Item 1) and tighten according to tightening sequence
shown in Figure 5.
NOTE
Tighten the lug nuts. Have Field Maintenance check for proper torque at
earliest availability.
5.
As soon as possible, have Field Maintenance torque lug nuts to 450-500 lb ft (610-678 Nm). Refer to lug
nut tightening sequence shown in Figure 5.

6.
Check alignment of tire assembly by placing a block of wood or other object on ground at side of tire and
rotate wheel.
7.
If distance between block of wood and tire varies by more than 0.125 in. (3.18 mm), tire assembly is not
properly mounted.
8.
To correct, loosen nuts and re-tighten nuts in tightening sequence shown in Figure 5.
9.
Recheck alignment.
