OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
GOOSENECK TILT OR LIFT CYLINDERS WILL NOT EXTEND/RETRACT
INITIAL SETUP:
Not Applicable
WARNING
Place towing vehicle Power Take-Off (PTO) switch in low idle position for hydraulic
operations to avoid over pressurizing the hydraulic system. Failure to comply may
result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of
an injury.
Do not work under gooseneck without lock pins securely in place. Failure to
comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.
ALWAYS ensure semitrailer is coupled to towing vehicle and all parking brakes are
set prior to attempting to free lock pins that will not retract. Failure to comply may
result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of
an injury.
Wear eye protection when performing any hydraulic maintenance procedure or
test. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical
attention in the event of an injury.
NOTE
A reading of 900 psi (6,205.28 kPa) is only on gage when the hydraulic controls
are in use. For the raising/lowering of the deck, readings will go down to 300 psi
(2,068.43 kPa) when the lever is disengaged.
The psi will vary due to load. Hydraulic pressures will vary from 300-900 psi
(2,068.43-6,205.28 kPa) under normal operation and will reach a maximum of
900-1,100 psi (6,205.28-7,584.23 kPa) under full load.
