Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during proce-
dure. Ensure that any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of
heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning may cause injury or death to per-
sonnel.
CAU T I ON
Do not lift side armor with lifting eye on door. Use two lifting eyes located on side armor.
N OT E
Side armor weighs 360 lb (163 kg) without door installed.

Attach sling and lifting device to two lifting eyes (22) on side armor (37).
8.
Remove three bolts (30), washers (31), armor washers (32), washers (23), and locknuts (24) from side of vehicle. Dis-
card locknuts.
9.
Remove nine bolts (35) and washers (36) from front and bottom edge of side armor (37).
10.
Using lifting device, support weight of side armor (37) and remove 10 locknuts (18), washers (19), bolts (34), and wash-
ers (33) from side armor (37). Discard locknuts.
11.
Using lifting device, remove two locknuts (25), washers (26), attachment plates (27), bolts (29), washers (28), and side
armor (37) from vehicle. Discard locknuts.
12.
Remove nine bolts (21), washers (20), and support bracket (17) from side of vehicle.
