NOTE This chart is only to be used if:
1) All bastemechanical checks and physical inspections have been performed with no problem found. and
2) Diagnosis of DDEC-II was started at step Start-1 (page 3-121) and you have now been referred here.

Sensor
Check
l Turn ignition off.
l Disconnect OTS or CTS and install
a jumper between the OTS or CTS
connector
sockets A and B.
l Turn ignition on.
l Read active codes.

for Short to
+5 Volt Line
l Turn ignition off.
l Remove jumper wire.
l Disconnect the engine harness
connector at the ECM.
l Read resistance between sockets
R2 and WI on the engine harness
connector.

Check
OTS or CTS
Connectors
l Inspect terminals at the OTS or
CTS connectors
(both the sensor
and harness side) for damage:
bent, corroded,
and unseated
pins or sockets.

Open line Check
l Turn inition off.
l Disconnect the engine harness
connector at the ECM.
Read resistance between sockets
R2 and Y2 on the engine harness
connector.
