D. CHART 9.
NO "STOP
ENGINE"
LIGHT (SEL)
DURING
BULB CHECK
NOTE This chart IS only to be used if:
1)All
basic mechanical
checks and physical inspections have been performed with no problem
found, and
2) Diagnosis of DDEC-II was stafted at step Start- 1 (page 3-121 ) and you have now been referred here.

Try to Force
SEL On
l Turn ignition off.
l Disconnect the vehicle harness
connector at the ECM.
l Install ajumper wire between socket
62 on the vehicle harness
connector and a good ground.
l Turn the ignition on (engine not
running).
l Note the Stop Engine light status.

Check
for Short
l Remove jumper wire.
l Read voltage on vehicle harness
connector, socket B3
to a good ground.

Bulb Check
l Remove SEL bulb and check
whether its burned out or
otherwise damaged.
RESULT
Stop Engine"
Iight is still off.
"Stop Engine
light is on.
Less than
23.0 volts
Greater than
23.0 volts
if using
a
24 volt ignition.
Bulb is
okay.
Bulb is
not okay.
Go
to C9-2.
Go
to C9-4.
The
5 Amp ignition fuse is
blown, and/or the ignition line
(ckt #439) is open or shorted to
ground. Contact Direct Support.
Then go to C9-30.
Go
to C9-3.
SEL
Driver line (ckt #509) is
open. Contact Direct Support.
Then go to C9-30.
Replace
bulb,
page 4-193.
Then go to C9-30.
