C8-2 Check For   Short l Turn ignition   off. •  Disconnect   the  vehicle   harness connector   at  the  ECM. •  Turnignition on (engine  not running) while  at  the  same   time  observing the  "Stop   Engine”   light. C8-3 Check ECM Connectors l Check  terminals   at  the  vehicle harness  connector    (both  the  ECM and  harness   side)   for  damage; bent,  corroded,    and   unseated pins or sockets.  Pay close  attention to  B2  and  B3. C8-30 Verify Repairs l Turn   ignition off. l Reconnect all    connectors. l Turn   ignition on. l  clear codes. l Turn   ignition off. l Turn   ignition on    while   at  the  same time  observing   the  “Stop   Engine” light. Direct Support. Then go  to C8-30. “Stop   Engine” Go  to  C8-3. light  stays  off. Replace   ECM,  page   4-192. Then  go  to  C8-30. Repair  terminals/connectors, page   3-2.
