STEP/SEQUENCE
C2-18 Check for 12 Volts at
the 6-Way, Power
Harness Connector
l Turn ignition off.
l Disconnect the 6-way power
harness connector.
l Read voltage from socket A and B
of the 6-way power harness
connector to a good ground.
l Also read voltage from
socket E and F to a good ground.
C2-19 Check if ECM Power
Line(s) are Open
l Read voltage between battery side
of one ECM fuse or circuit breaker
and a good ground.
l Read voltage reading at the other
ECM fuse or circuit breaker. (Note:
the battery side does not contain
the #240 or #241 wires. )
C2-20 Check Battery
l connect all connectors.
l Turn ignition on.
l Try to start engine.
l Read voltage at the battery+
terminal to the battery-
terminal.
RESULT
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Go to C2-21 .
Go to C2-20.
An open exists in either Bank A
Power (ckt #240) or Bank B
Power (ckt #241). Contact Direct
Support. Then go to C2-30.
Service discharged battery. (Note:
if a shod to ground exists any-
where in a battery + circuit, the
engine will shut down again if not
repaired). Dust vac maybe bad,
page 4-202. Then go to C2-30.
An open or short to ground
exists in the Batt + line. Repair
open or short to ground,
page 3-2. Then go to C2-30.
