INSTALLATION
NOTE
If chain assembly is not routed correctly, tire will not clear rear of semitrailer.
1.
Connect spare tire (Figure 1, Item 5) to boom crane (Figure 1, Item 6) by feeding chain through wheel
openings (Figure 1, Item 3) and secure chain. Raise tire to deck of semitrailer, lower in position, and
remove chain.
WARNING
DO NOT lift wheel and tire assembly. Wheel and tire assembly weighs 250 lb (113 kg).
Use two or more personnel to roll or slide wheel and tire assembly. Failure to comply may
result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
2.
With assistance, turn spare tire assembly (Figure 1, Item 5) over.
3.
Center spare tire (Figure 1, Item 5) over threaded hole on raised loadbed at rear of semitrailer.
4.
Secure tire to semitrailer deck with retainer bar (Figure 1, Item 4) and retaining bolt (Figure 1, Item 1).
5.
Attach security chain (Figure 1, Item 2) to retaining bolt (Figure 1, Item 1) and secure.
6.
Return boom crane (Figure 1, Item 6) to tool box.
