FIELD MAINTENANCE
THEORY OF OPERATION
GOOSENECK
Removable Kingpin. Two provided, primary is 3.5 in. (88.9 mm), alternate is 2 in. (50.8 mm), for fifth wheel plate
and kingpin coupling.
Gooseneck
Hydraulic detachable for vehicle or equipment loading.
Integrated tool box at front of gooseneck for storage of the tiedown chains, binders, jack, etc.
SUSPENSION
1.
Three rear axles on walking beam suspension support highway and improved roads payload of
80,000 lb (36,320 kg) at 55 mph (88.5 km/h), and unimproved road (graded gravel) payload of
80,000 lb (36,320 kg) at 30 mph (48.3 km/h).
2.
Towing vehicle supplies brake air pressure for control of brakes, hydraulic power for operation of
gooseneck, and electric power for semitrailer lighting.
3.
Hub mileage meter located on left front wheel records semitrailer mileage.
4.
Spare tire mounting location on the rear deck of the semitrailer.
