Check for open
Turn ignition off.
Greater than
One or both data lines are open.
5 ohms.
Repair open.
Unplug the 6 pin
communications
Go to 57-30.

Place a jumper wire

Go to 57-3.

A (#800) and B (#801)
Locate other ends of wire #800 and
#801 (i.e. ABS Brake system)
Measure resistance between wires

Check for short
Remove jumper wire.
Less than 5 ohms.
The two data wires are
shorted together repair short
and go to 57-30.
Read resistance between
Greater than 5 ohms.
Reprogram ECM then go

Verify repairs
Turn ignition off.
Reconnect all connections.
Turn ignition on.
No codes.
Repairs are complete.
Clear codes.
Start and run engine
