TROUBLESHOOTING CHARTS
E. CODE43- LOW COOLANT
NOTE This chart is only to be used If
1 ) All basic mechanical checks and physical inspections have been performed with no problem found. and
2) Diagnosis of DDEC-II was started at step Start-1 (page 3-121 ) and you have now been referred here.

refer to the example given in the Code 85 chart
43.1 Multiple Code Check
l Were there any other active codes
besides Code 43?
43-2 Check Coolant Level
l Check if coolant level is full.
43.3 Clean Coolant Level
Sensor
l Turn ignition off.
l Disconnect wires to CLS probe.
l unscrew CLS probe.
l Wipe probe clean with a clean rag.
l Reinstall probe.
l Connect wires to CLS probe.
l Turn ignition on.
. Clear codes.
l Start and run engine until the Stop
Engine light comes on or for 1
minute.
l Stop engine.
l Read historical codes.
43.6 Ground Wire Check
l Turn ignition off.
l Disconnect CLS connector.
l Read resistance between socket
C of the CLS harness connector
and a good battery ground (also
try shaking the wire while reading
resistance).
Code 25 (no codes)
Code 43 (and
any other code).
Any other codes
except Code 43.
