STEERING SYSTEM
1.
The power steering system consists of an integral steering gear (which includes a manual steering mechanism and
hydraulic control valve), hydraulic hoses, power steering pump, reservoir, and other components.
2.
The power steering pump, driven by the engine, provides the power-assist for the steering system.
TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
The inter-axle differential lock is controlled by the air operated lever labeled INTER-AXLE DIFFERENTIAL on the drivers
instrument panel. Under normal driving conditions, the control lever should be in the UNLOCKED position. During poor driv-
ing conditions, the control lever may be moved to the LOCKED position to improve traction. When the inter-axle differential
lock is applied, the drive shaft becomes a solid connection between the two rear axles.
