5-14. HEADLAMPS.
a. Description (fig. 5-31). The headlamp system uses two sealed-beam lamps which provide
separate and distinct high and low beams. A foot-operated dimmer switch controls the use of the
high or low beam. The headlamp switch on the instrument panel turns the headlamps ON and OFF,
A recycling type circuit breaker in the headlamp switch protects the circuit without a total loss of
the headlamps in case of a short.
b. Troubleshooting the Headlamp Circuit. Perform the steps in table 5-8 to isolate faulty
components of the headlamp circuit.
