SOLENOID CANNOT Check engine coolant temperature gage. Check for voltage at circuit 51 terminal of ETHER switch. Check for voltage at circuit 51A terminal of ETHER switch. Check for voltage at circuit 51B terminal of solenoid. Check for voltage at circuit 51C terminal of solenoid. Check for voltage at terminal of ETHER temperature switch. BE HEARD TO CLICK WHEN ETHER BUTTON IS PUSHED

NO RETARDING ACTION.

The engine retarder solenoid valves are applied by the foot switch as selected by the three-position ENGINE RETARDER switch (fig. 5-27). The operator must let up on the foot throttle to close the throttle position sensing switch. b. Troubleshooting the Engine Retarder Control.
