Repeat Step (1) for the opposite equalizing beam but leave the jack in position as a
secondary support.
WARNING
Always use jack stands to support the trailer when removing a tire and wheel
assembly. Serious injury can result if the jack fails and the axle is not supported.
(3)
Using a handle and wrench, remove 10 lug nuts securing each wheel and remove the inner
and outer wheels on both sides of the rear axle.
(4)
Position a dolly jack under balance point of front axle and raise dolly until dolly comes in
contact with axle.
(5)
Remove 5/8 in. bolts (4) and self- locking nuts securing both ends of the four upper and
lower torque rods securing the axle. Discard bolts and nuts.
NOTE
For torque rods attached to the axle tower, pry off the metal plug caps from the
towers to gain access to the torque rod self locking bushing nuts.
(6)
Remove spigot caps (3) and torque rods (5).
